Reyhanli in southern Turkey is a city of the injured and just metres from the border with Syria. There are now more refugees living there than locals, including many women who were imprisoned and tortured in Syria. In October 2024, a group of women came forward to share their stories of escaping and surviving Assad's torture prisons, including Sednaya prison, the most notorious of the Assad regime due to the torture, sexual assault, and mass executions.
